Our 2014 show in French is Molière’s celebrated The Learned Ladies (Les Femmes savantes). The Learned Ladies is a five-act comedy of manners in verse that premiered on March 11, 1672 at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal in Paris. It is considered a masterpiece and is one of Molière’s most popular comedies.

We are giving two performances, on Friday and Saturday, April 11 & 12, 2014, at 8 PM at the George Ignatieff Theatre on the downtown campus of the University of Toronto. A one-page summary of the play in English (see also below) as well as projected surtitles in English will be available at both shows. You can purchase tickets on-line, with seats assigned following a consultation with our box office staff; or you can contact our box office by telephone weekdays 11 AM – 5 PM, starting March 31, 2014. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the performances with payment by cash only.
