{"id":625,"date":"2017-02-12T19:03:48","date_gmt":"2017-02-13T00:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/latroupedesanciens.org\/tda_wp\/?p=625\/"},"modified":"2017-02-12T19:03:48","modified_gmt":"2017-02-13T00:03:48","slug":"our-2013-show-the-imaginary-invalid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/latroupedesanciens.org\/tda_wp\/2017\/02\/our-2013-show-the-imaginary-invalid\/","title":{"rendered":"Our 2013 Show: \u201cThe Imaginary Invalid\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our 2013 show in French was Moli\u00e8re\u2019s celebrated <i>The Imaginary Invalid <\/i>(\u201c<i>Le Malade imaginaire\u201d<\/i>). <i>The Imaginary Invalid<\/i> is a three-act comedy-ballet in prose that premiered on February 10, 1673 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Th%C3%A9%C3%A2tre_du_Palais-Royal_(rue_Saint-Honor%C3%A9)\">Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Palais-Royal<\/a> in Paris. It is Moli\u00e8re\u2019s last work as he collapsed during the fourth performance playing the lead role and later died. Original music for the play was by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marc-Antoine_Charpentier\">Marc-Antoine Charpentier<\/a>, and choreography by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pierre_Beauchamp\">Pierre Beauchamp<\/a>, with whom Moli\u00e8re had worked previously on such plays as <i>The Would-be Gentleman<\/i> (\u201c<i>Le Bourgeois gentilhomme\u201d<\/i>). More information is available at Wikipedia <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Imaginary_Invalid\">on the play<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Moli%C3%A8re\"> on Moli\u00e8re<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We gave four school matin\u00e9e performances on Wednesday and Thursday, April 17 &amp; 18, at 10 AM and 1 PM, and two evening performances on Friday and Saturday, April 19 &amp; 20, 2013, at 8 PM, all at the George Ignatieff Theatre on the downtown campus of the University of Toronto. A printed synopsis in English as well as projected surtitles in English were available at both shows. Tickets could be purchased online, with seats assigned following a consultation with our box office staff.
