This was a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ballets_de_cour\">court ballet<\/a> first performed on February 23, 1653 and which featured the 14 year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Louis_XIV_of_France\">Louis XIV<\/a> in the role of Apollo, the Sun King. The music for the ballet was created by royal composer <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jean-Baptiste_Lully\">Jean-Baptiste Lully<\/a>, who also composed the music for \u201cThe Would-be Gentleman\u201d.
