La Troupe des Anciens de l’Université de Toronto is pleased to announce it has selected The Miser (L’Avare), a five-act comedy in prose by Molière, as the play for the 50th anniversary of its annual show in French to be performed in April 2019. Artistic Director of La Troupe des Anciens Paulette Collet said: “Working together with our various stakeholders, especially our loyal secondary education public, we chose The Miser for its timeless story of family, marriage and all-consuming avarice.” For more information about the school matinée and evening performances, see our website or follow us on social media.

I have been a member of La Troupe des Anciens since playing a role in the 1988 performance of “The Love Doctor” (« L’Amour médecin »). It has been a pleasure acting on stage, improving my French, and — more recently — providing IT support to La Troupe.
