Our 2026 show in French is Molière’s The Miser (L’Avare).

The Miser is a five-act comedy in prose that was first performed on September 9, 1668 at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal in Paris. It is loosely based on the Latin comedy Aulularia (“The Little Pot” or “The Pot of Gold”) by Plautus, and revolves around the miserly widower Harpagon, the plans for his marriage and those of his daughter and his son, and his all-consuming desire to keep his wealth safe.

For more on the plays, see the Wikipedia articles on The Miser and Molière. One-page summaries and full texts of both plays in English and French are available below, and you can follow us on social media to be kept abreast of other developments.
